WASHINGTON: Microsoft is rolling out Office 365 free to students across the globe.
The company said on Tuesday that the offer was being extended in all countries where Office is available. We checked the list it is quite lengthy and most of all includes India.
However, there's a catch, the software will be available free of cost to students of schools who buy subscriptions for staff and faculty. This means that schools must license Office for its students to be eligible to be able to get free Office 365.
On signing up, students can reportedly have the newest version of Office, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access and Publisher, and be able to install them on up to five computers and five phones or tablets.
The move comes almost two years after Microsoft announced that it would offer Microsoft Office to US students for free.
