The company has launched a new Facebook Lite app which is specially designed for slower 2G networks and for lesser data usage. At this time, Facebook Lite app is only available in Play Store for selected countries- Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Zimbabwe, and more countries are expected to be added soon.
There are few other alternatives of Facebook Lite available, but this official app provides native Android alerts. This app consumes lower system space and the APK file is just 251KB. Also, this is better that the Facebook experience on your mobile browser. This offers a faster install, better data management and quicker load times.
